Lombard is 22 miles west of the city of Chicago and is located along I-355 and close to I-88. Lombard is known as the Lilac Village and boasts a picturesque downtown setting with unique shops, restaurants and other businesses. There are several events going in the warmer months from the Lilac Time Festival, to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, and even a Taste of Lombard. At Yorktown Mall there is a Farmer’s Market on Wednesday evenings from April to October and in Downtown Lombard there is one on Saturday afternoons at the Hammerschmidt Metra Parking lot. Within Lombard there are four available Park Districts serving their local neighborhoods, and to escape the summer heat there is the Paradise Bay Waterpark. In the winter there is outdoor ice skating available when weather appropriate.
