LaGrange, IL
LaGrange is located approximately 17 miles west of Chicago and is known as a “railroad suburb” due to its location along the BNSF commuter line. In 1979 the Village of La Grange Historic District was placed on the National Register of Historic Places due to the high quality of the architecture, the historic significance, and the degree to which they have been preserved. The Village of LaGrange has lots to offer besides its history. The city is in close proximity to Brookfield Zoo (only 2 miles away). The annual Pet Parade, art fairs, historic housewalks and carnivals take place in the downtown area. Farmers Markets are held from May to October on Thursday mornings. Don’t miss the Endless Summer Nights Event in August, or the West End Arts Festival in September. Join in the fun during the annual Halloween Walk in October and the Hometown Holiday in December. If you’re looking for something to do outside on warmer days, stop by one of the many parks LaGrange has to offer.
